Private Health Insurance Coverage in 31 States
At Top Tier Coverage Advising, insurance advisor Emmanuel Lopez is proud to offer private health insurance coverage to individuals and families across the United States. Licensed to provide coverage in the following states:
Where you shop for coverage — and your deadline to enroll — depends on which kind of marketplace your state runs. Here’s the breakdown for 2027 plan year enrollment:
States With Their Own Exchange
Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Nevada, and Virginia run their own state-based marketplaces rather than using HealthCare.gov directly. Most follow the standard November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027 window, with two exceptions:
Illinois extends through January 31, 2027
Virginia extends through January 29, 2027
State exchanges set their own calendars and can adjust them year to year, so confirm your exact deadline directly on your state’s marketplace before you rely on it.
Arkansas and Oklahoma
Both states select and manage their own marketplace plans but still use the HealthCare.gov platform for enrollment — you’ll shop on HealthCare.gov, but the plan options are state-managed.
Standard Federal Marketplace States
Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming all use HealthCare.gov, with open enrollment running November 1, 2026 – January 15, 2027. To have coverage start January 1, 2027, enroll by December 15, 2026 in most of these states.
